Paper Glider is a game in which players must launch a paper airplane out of a window and attempt to reach the farthest distance. The player can temporarily blow the wind behind the glider keeping it in the air for longer. It was created for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch by Neon Play Ltd and currently is free to download; however this is only for a short time, the game will then cost $0.99.
In Paper Glider, players must fling their paper airplanes across their office and out of the window. To do this they simply have to drag their finger across the screen. Players must avoid the rotating fans in the ceiling. Then the glider must fly through the open window and avoid the wall around it. Once out of the window the plane soars through cities, forests and deserts with only the wind keeping it in the air. Players can do help this by tapping to give a boost of wind.
At the top of the screen there is a bar that shows how long the player can boost their paper glider. As the player taps the bar decreases until it is completely gone. The wind is only measured once the player has left the building. Players need to use their wind strategically to ensure the plane does not go off the top or the bottom of the screen. If this happens the game is over. The player’s top scores are noted by markers on the floor. Players can put in three letter initials, so that multiple players can play each other.
Paper Glider has good graphics even if the backgrounds are repetitive. The sounds on the game are fairly good and don’t distract from the action. The game play is very limited because the controls do not give much variation. Only certain throws will get the plane out of the window and the player has only so much wind. Yet the game is still enjoyable and fun to play. Online features would make this game even better and a range of levels would improve it. Overall the game is fun and really worth a try as long as it is downloaded for free. Pay $0.99 for this game would be too much and the game simply does not have enough variation to deserve this price tag. Paper Glider is a fun experience, but will not be a game many players come back to after one play.
